About the Library
Welcome to the Central Library which is one of the major support services of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kollam.The Central Library homepage provides access to text, bibliographic informations and links to various important web resources. It strives to connect outstanding faculty and brilliant students to the knowledge and state of art of their discipline’s. As face is the index of a person, so is the library for an institution.
To provide access to global knowledge, the central library has collection of over 18,500 volumes of indian and foreign books in their latest edition and subscribe to more than 110 periodicals, including national and international journals of educative and research value. Besides, there is a good collection of CDs, Project reports, Standards and thesis etc. The library also holds rich collections in humanities, spirituals and the books of general interest. Each year, on an average 3500 volumes are added to the collection. Central Library has got institutional membership with British Library, which enables to go for inter Library Loan service and access to huge online resources of British Library.
There is a separate department library functioning exclusively for "Center for Biotechnology" The students and staff members of biotechnology make use of this library to access books and other materials for their informational need.
All students, faculty members and employees of the university are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. |
