Report on Cynosure
Knowledge beckon... answer the call at the centre stage.
Cynosure was the first event in netblitz ’07 and it happened over the space of two days. Participants were presented with diverse topics in the networking arena and also with the live demos which were presented by the instructors of the Amritapuri campus.
On the first day we had the following sessions:-
1. 21'st Century Trends in Technologies BY- Mr Lokesh Mehra, Regional Manager - Corporate Responsibility (South Asia),Cisco Systems.
2. Future of networking- the challenge, the opportunity – BY -- Mr Jagan J, Area Academy Manager - India & SAARC, Cisco Systems.
3. Advanced network security –BY - Mr Sreevalsan M, Head - ICTS, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Campus
The second day saw the following sessions:-
1. Security in Ubiquitous Computing –BY - Br Jayaraj, Chief Technology Officer of Amrita Research Labs, Amritapuri Campus
2. Creating reusable solutions for recurring problems using Design Patterns - BY- Mr J. Shri Krishnan, Executive-Training, ICTS, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus
We also had technical demo of all the workshop sessions. These demos were a presented in a detailed manner by the Cisco instructors of Amritapuri campus, which enabled the participants to take part in the workshops in a much better way. The demos were as follows:-
1) Basic Concepts in Networking
2) NAT/PAT Configurations
3) Configuring VLAN
4) Working with WLAN
