The Networking Academy Programme is an e-learning model that delivers web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, and instructor training and support. Through this programme, the students learn how to design, build and maintain computer networks.
The Cisco Networking Academy Program exists in more than 9800 Academies located in high schools, technical schools, colleges, universities, international organizations, and community-based organizations around the world.
Launched in 1997, there are now over 10,000 networking academies in over 149 countries. Over 230,000 students are currently enrolled and over 117,000 graduated have gone through the programme world-wide.
In 2002 Cisco Systems expanded the networking academy curriculum to include courses sponsored by IT industry leaders - Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems and Panduit.
