The Mechanical Engineering department was established in 2004, with a student intake of 60. Over a period of three years the department underwent tremendous growth and currently it has faculty strength of 15 and student strength of about 260.
The department has a competent and committed faculty team with long years of academic, research & industrial experiences. The department also has a team of dedicated and highly experienced supporting staff to help the students in the laboratories.
The department of mechanical engineering has adequate number of highly qualified and experienced faculty. The chair person of the department Dr. Ganesha Udupa has over ten years of research experience in the field of nanotechnology. Mr. Pramod Sreedharan, Asst. Prof., is specialised in robotics.
The Mechanical Engineering students are second to none in academic and non-academic activities. They publish a quarterly technical magazine titled “SANKETIKA”, which reflects their enthusiasm and knowledge in the field of science and technology.
