Department Activities
A work shop on Nanoscience & Nanotechnology was conducted under the auspices of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, from 14th May to 18th May, 2007. The workshop was inaugurated with the lighting-of-the-lamp by Br. Sudeep. Dr. KBM Nambootiripad, Dean, Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus presided over the function. The keynote address was given by Dr.V.Radhakrishnan, Director, Engineering & Research, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Dr. Juzer vasi, Deputy Director, IIT Bombay, addressed the gathering. Dr. K.Sankaran, Principal, Amrita School of Engineering, proposed the vote of thanks.

A Brief Introduction to SPM AFM |
As part of the workshop, there was a trip to Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Cochin University of Science & Technology.
Over 60 delegates from different parts of India attended the workshop. The workshop provided an opportunity for the participants to update their knowledge in the field of Nano Science & Nano Technology. The demonstration of scanning tunneling microscope (STM) & Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), which are the state-of-the art equipment in the field of Nano Technology, was an entirely new experience to the participants.
The valedictory function was presided over by Dr.Balakrishnan Shanker, Associate Dean, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. Dr.Ganesh Udupa, Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amritapuri Campus offered the vote of thanks. |
