The Computer Science and Engineering Department started when the college was established at Amritapuri in 2002.Currently, the department has total student strength of 262. We have students from different states of India though most of the students are from the state itself..
The department focuses on overall development of the students imparting Industry standard skills through Projects and by encouraging Students Association activities and Industrial visits. Value based education and Professional ethics are also a part of the curriculum. Our students actively participate in social activities organized by Math. There are students from CSE in Haritha, a group to encourage tree plantation and there by cultivating good relationship with nature. During Tsunami days our students serviced in Tsunami affected areas in Alappad panchayath. The faculty strength of the department is Eighteen for the current semester.
The department prides itself about the results that we had achieved so far. Now we know that we are part of the prestigious Amrita University which demands a lot from us. We will take the responsibilities that Amrita has placed upon us and will continue to contribute to the fast growth of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
