Over the period of 5 years since its formation, the department has established five labs including Analog, Digital, Microwave, DSP and VLSI Labs. Analog Electronics lab has 20 CROs and 18 DSOs which are used by students during their lab session. We have 40 computers in the DSP and VLSI Labs so that each student can work with one computer during the Lab session. Also extra labs are given to students to help in completing their project either final year or mini projects during other years. The lab provides all the equipments including bread boards to test and debug their hardware designs. VLSI lab provides computers to test and debug their software designs.
Over the years, department is encouraging teachers and students to participate in National/International seminars. Our faculty have participated in various National/International seminars and symposiums with funds provided from the department. Also our department has conducted two national level seminars on Information Security and Cryptography funded by AICTE, BRNS, DRDO etc convened by our HOD Mr. Suresh Kumar and Ms. Renu. Our department is conducting various workshops on Microcontrollers, VLSI etc. at regular intervals for the students of Amritapuri campus as well as students of other colleges. By this way students can develop deep skill sets in emerging areas which will help them to design good projects and also help them in the placement interviews. These workshops are conducted such that not only our department students take part but also the students of all other departments can participate.
The department focuses on overall development of the students imparting soft skills through Projects and Seminar presentations and by encouraging Students’ Association Activities and Industrial visits. Value education and Professional ethics are also an integral part of the curriculum.
